We want to make a difference
Probably the most common reason speakers choose to speak in public is the ability to make a difference. There are many professions that empower people to make a positive difference in the world, but few professions have as direct an impact on creating a better society as speakers.

Public speaking
According to several research studies, the vast majority of people hate public speaking. Maybe I’m an anomaly here, but I love public speaking and being on stages. I formed my first band when I was 15. Later it extended to city festivals and gala evenings. It was a nice hobby.

Speaking is a challenge
Personally, I like a good challenge. If something seems too easy or I find it too easy, I don’t feel rewarded compared to something that is difficult. Fortunately, public speaking does not fall into the easy category.
